Workarounds for using Leapfrog with screen sharing applications

There are some known issues with using Leapfrog over screen sharing applications such as Webex and Skype for Business.  The majority of issues can be resolved by switching sharing to either the whole screen or the Leapfrog window specifically, depending on which screen sharing application is being used.

 

The following table summarises the known issues with each application and the workaround to use:

Screen Sharing Application Known Issues Workarounds
Webex
  • Cannot open or create additional projects after the first
  • Loss of mouse commands (need to click outside of the dialogue and go back)
Use application sharing rather than screen sharing
Zoom
  • Cannot open or create a project
  • Loss of mouse commands (need to click on the scene and go back)
  • Cannot zoom with scroll wheel
  • Cannot clear the scene
Use application sharing rather than screen sharing
Skype for Business
  • Cannot drag objects into the scene
Use desktop sharing rather than window sharing
Microsoft Teams
  • Cannot drag objects into the scene
  • Cannot see import dialogue
  • Cannot see right click mouse options
  • Cannot see properties dialogue
  • Cannot see statistics graphs
  • Cannot see points table
Use desktop sharing rather than window sharing*

* This will resolve all issues except the ability to drag objects into the scene.  The workaround for this is to right click and choose 'view' for objects.
